Below are updates from the Town of Zionsville Street & Stormwater Department on 2017 road projects and rehabilitation paving.
*Note: rain could cause further delays or changes. For the most recent updates, visit the Town's traffic alerts page.
Ford and Mulberry Roundabout
Weather has caused slight delays in the originally planned aggressive timeline and elements of construction are excepted to continue into September. Beginning Aug. 1, drivers should be alert to minor changes in the traffic lanes leading to the roundabout project at the intersection of Ford and Mulberry. Drivers should also be prepared for increased delays and should follow the direction of traffic control flaggers or seek alternate routes. This condition is expected to continue at least through Aug. 18.
Zionsville Road and 96th Street Intersection
On Wednesday, Aug. 2 and Thursday, Aug 3, contractors will be milling the entire 9th Street and Zionsville Road intersection from approximately 7 a.m.-7p.m. Individual lanes will be closed and traffic will be directed by flaggers. Drivers should also expect significant delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes during these two days.
Oak Street Rehabilitation
The Oak Street rehabilitation project is expected to continue through mid-August. This week, contractors will be installing ADA ramps and curb. Next week, contractors will complete milling and re-surfacing of First Street and Sycamore Street.
Other noteworthy project: Town Hall Big-4 Rail Trail Sidewalk
The sidewalk off Town Hall parking lot with access to the Big-4 Rail Trail will remain closed. Due to rain, this project is one week behind schedule with construction expected to continue through the week of Monday, Aug. 1. The temporary sidewalk with access to the Rail Trail is expected to open Friday, Aug. 11.
